Transition aged youth, youth transitioning out of the foster care system, are in need specific resources to assist them with transitioning into adulthood. Resources such as legal representation, financial literacy, housing assistance, mentors/advocates, life coaching, and more. The YouthPGH site was developed to provide quick access to all the different resources that are available. When the pandemic hit, young adults were faced with even more challenges and the site was used to promote the availability of cash funding to transition aged youth in need.
The custom-built WordPress theme features a homepage with a quick apply button as well as any information a young adult would need to know about accessing the funds available. The layout, design, content strategy and color scheme speak to a younger audience. User testing allowed us to ensure the site was appealing to a young adult audience.
The Other Resources page provides all the ongoing resources available both pre and post pandemic. A downloadable resource guide and short videos allow for quick access to resources and partner programs.
Finally, the Partner Toolkit is a valuable resource for partner corporations and programs to circulate critical information quickly via palm cards, flyers, and social media. All resources keeping the same voice, content strategy and consistent messaging.
